The new Lumia devices were launched at the National Museums of Kenya in Nairobi under the banner of a new consumer campaign dubbed #AchieveMore, which seeks to inspire users to increase their productivity by doing more with their Lumia phones, whether at work or at home.

The Lumia 640 and 640XL become the latest LTE / 4G smart devices to join the Lumia portfolio in Kenya and will retail at Kshs 19,999 and Kshs 25,750 respectively. The Lumia 430 which is a Dual SIM phone is the cheapest of the three and will be sold for only Ksh8,850

In a community where a majority of people think that expensive things are of the highest quality, Mariam Abdullahi, Microsoft General Manager for East Africa assured the gathering that, “People around the world have responded enthusiastically to our affordable Lumia range. We continue to invest in this segment to ensure that as many consumers as possible can enjoy signature Microsoft experiences, regardless of budget.”

At the launch which had purple as the theme colour banners with the tag line Inspiration doesn’t only work 9 to 5! were on display. Because of that tagline, two applications One Drive and One note were featured at the launch.  One note is an app that makes sure you can make notes very fast. It also allows users to pin different types of content apart from text to the app. You can pin pictures too and whats more interesting is that if you exit the window without saving, the changes are saved automatically.

On the other hand One Drive is a cloud based service that will make sure you store your data in a cloud. Consumers of the Lumia devices will get 30GB free storage  and a one year free subscription. All the Lumia devices have access to over 300,000 applications from the Windows Phone store.

Lumia 640 and 640XL offers more personal computing and increased productivity through seamlessly integrated Microsoft Office experiences which comes with one year free subscription, OneDrive storage and fast 4G connectivity. 1. I hope this phone will be available on jumia, because I have a 500bob coupon plus I want to win that white car in the back, which Toyota is that.

    1. They are a bargain plus I know jumia is cooking something big on the first week of June. Let’s hope the Lumia 430, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL will be part of the big discounts they will offer. You will get a really good deal if your voucher does not expire by then.
