Tecno, one of world’s leading mobile brands, brings its latest 4G tablet device DroiPad 8II to Kenya market again, after successfully launching three tablet products: DroiPad 7Cs, DroiPad 8H and WinPad10 in Y2015. Launching four tablet devices in Kenya in two consecutive years, it seems TECNO pays great attention to Kenya Market, probably aiming at the top position of African tablet and mobile computing market segment.
It is said that DroiPad 8II is a work of art, balancing mobility and fun as a tablet. This device is designed with an all-metallic finish and a slim bezel, plus an ultra-thin unibody which provides a comfortable and premium feeling when you are holding it.
Tecno is targeting white collar business men and students as the ideal customers and consumers of the Tecno Droid Pad 8II.
One of the significant features of DroiPad 8II is that it supports 4G/LTE connectivity with voice call, which enables users to enjoy mobile internet lifestyle as much as they desire. Also, DroiPad 8II owns an 8″ HD IPS screen (800*1280) with full lamination, a high performance 64-bit CPU, and dual stereo speakers with sound box, all of these features help to deliver pleasant audio/visual experience.
According to the marketing director of TECNO tablet division, “At TECNO, continuous improving user experience is an unwavering commitment as always. We do not just understand, but also care for local consumers’ concerns and their needs.”
Clearly, DroiPad 8II is a proof. It is a tablet device designed based on the understanding of local users. It provides varied battery solutions. A 5000 mAh high-capacity battery support ultra-long battery life of 12 hours video playback and 10 hours web browsing. The latest Pump Express + -fast charge technology, enables a 20-minutes flash charging to deliver 2 hours video playback, as well as the unique Reverse Charge + to support USB OTG function for external storage while charging your device in parallel at the same time.
DroiPad 8II will be available in retail stores and e-commerce site Jumia from May 13th, 2016. I think this is the first Tecno product that Tecno is selling on the Jumia platform. Asked why TECNO chose Jumia, Cicen Zhang the Tecno social media marketing manager said that “The target market has a habit of shopping more online”. The Tecno Droid Pad will go for Ksh17,499 on Jumia.
With such a huge screen the cameras (5MP/2MP) seem small for the DroidPad 8II but “user habits for tablets are not the same for smartphones and that’s why we see many people using smartphones instead of tablets for taking pictures” says Cicen. She went on to add that this also lowers the production cost.
Among the expected accessories that come with the Droid Pad are the screen protector and OTG cable.
